Doesn't sound right. We normally either agree a fee with the club (or meet release clause) and then negotiate wages with the player or we get permission to speak to the player, agree terms and then have to agree a fee.

Here it is being reported a fee and a wage offer. Despite supposedly neither the player nor club being open to it.

Doesn't sit right.

Bit surprised we even made official bid, surely Soriano and co would know that this is unrealistic no matter the offer.

Juve always wants to go this route to appear big and bad. They only sell wantaways or honor your desire to leave like Tevez and Pirlo who they could live without since they had top replacements.

I agree...is it possible that we've already given Everton an offer for Stones but they dragging their feet about giving us an answer...so we've done this, to give them a little push?

The wage offer is £230k p/w as well.

They are saying €7m per year net salary (Italians always report net salary), which would be €14m/£12m gross.

Everton probably dragging their feet so the incoming players they get are cheaper. If other selling clubs know Everton are loaded from the Stones deal, they will likely demand more themselves.
