Leonardo leaves AC Milan

He is still a Milan player he just on loan

That's what I thought...

...seems I'm mistaken. Must have missed that one becoming permanent.

Ah well- seems he's pissed off at Bordeaux anyway:

Gourcuff outburst alerts potential suitors

French international and Bordeaux playmaker Yoann Gourcuff could be set to leave the French Ligue 1 club after the former AC Milan star criticised the French media for disrupting Bordeaux’s season with constant rumours over the future of manager Laurent Blanc and Arsenal bound striker Marouane Chamakh. Gourcuff is not short of admirers, with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini, Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti, and Manchester United gaffer Sir Alex Ferguson all confirmed admirers of the enigmatic playmaker.

Despite a disappointing campaign this term from Bordeaux compared with the previous season where the Ligue 1 side clinched the French title, Gourcuff has been the inspiration behind their success forming an impressive forward partnership with Moroccan frontman Marouane Chamakh. The departure of Chamakh to Arsenal on a free transfer, plus the reports in France suggesting manager Laurent Blanc is set to succeed French manager Raymond Domenech after the World Cup have sparked doubts over the future of the talented 23-year-old playmaker. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger could be tempted to re-kindle the partnership that served Bordeaux so well, while Manchester City and Chelsea were linked with moves in the January transfer window. Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is looking to strengthen his squad with a creative midifelder with Gourcuff a comparable option to Tottenham Hotspur’s Luka Modric.

Gourcuff, once dubbed the ‘next Zidane’ began his career at Rennes before securing a move to AC Milan, then managed by current Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti. However an injury ravaged two-year-spell in Milan saw him return to France with Bordeaux, initially on loan, and then permanently acting as the catalyst to Bordeaux winning the French Ligue 1 Championship. Gourcuff’s relationship with the Chelsea boss could also be a major factor in deciding which destination he ends up, however the West London club have reportedly prioritised Bayern Munich’s Franck Ribery over Gourcuff. Manchester City, Manchester United, and Arsenal are all monitoring the situation closely, however French side Lyon could also enter the race for the player.

Gourcuff slammed the French media in an interview with AFP News Agency, alerting a number of potential suitors in France and England:

“Last season you were on the back of Olympique Lyonnais,” he told the AFP news agency.
“This year, it’s Bordeaux that suffers.
“I’m not saying you [are responsible for the bad results], but you want to find little things to try to destabilise Bordeaux. Suddenly, all around the training centre, one senses an atmosphere; an atmosphere different from last season, and this is partly related to what you say or write.
“It's tiring because you're always talking about the coach [Laurent Blanc] or [saying] that Marouane [Chamakh] will leave.”

Gourcuff has 17 caps for his country and could cost in the region of £18 million.

He is a Bordeaux player.

Would only take 1 player from AC. Ronaldinho is too old now to get back to his best and would become another Robinho as for the rest Pato is not as good as people think. Just because AC paid a lot of money for him doesnt mean hes world class. I dont know his goalscoring record but i cant see it being very good as whenver i watched AC this season its either been Boriello or Ronaldinho scoring. I now expect to get a lot of youtube videos showing how good Pato is but do you really think admirers of him are going to upload vidoes of him not playing well? Its shown this season that AC arent the team they where and everyone wants to blame Leonardo but its clear to see the players just arent up to it and thats why i wouldnt touch any of them with a barge pole apart from 1 player. Thiago Silva the centre back looks a very good prospect but i think Chelsea are in for him so looks like we would miss out anyway.
