Leroy Sané

Those were very specific circumstances, not down to player's abilities or talent

You are right though in City not replacing him, Mahrez can’t do what Sane could which was being direct and going past players. Torres has got the potential to do what Sane could, however I think they will be looking elsewhere in the summer to bring someone in who can play across the front line.

Sorry, but he never looked at that level.

Hes scored only 6 CL goals in his entire career and hes 25. Sane has to be most overrated player on this forum ever.
I agree, that’s why I said trajectory. We all know his deficiencies, that’s what will hold him back, but take yourself back 3 years & remind yourself of the performances he was putting in, he was 22 playing in another country, another league, the pace he had, the promise, he was electric at times, he had decent numbers, we hadn’t even heard of Haaland Mbappe etc, this lad looked like he would be the next generation, why do you think Bayern began tapping him at that time? No doubt there where others too. I was in the get rid camp because his head had been turned, not because I didn’t think he would be anything other than brilliant for us, inconsistent yeah, but a really important player, if there’s any other player in world football with the same attributes I’d snap them in a heartbeat

Look, in the end there was little City/Pep could do about it. The player's will was elsewhere for whatever reasons but a damn shame because he was amazing with City, his future as well as that of City was looking incredible

Hopefully Torres will have a great future but an electric winger like Leroy would really be a great addition to the squad

It’s says something when Mahrez got the nod ahead of him. A talented footballer was Leroy but looks like Pep made the right call on this one.
And yet when the assist graphic appeared during Sunday’s game KDB had 100 Silva had 62 I think Leroy was third with 42 which is very impressive given he wasn’t a guaranteed starter. He’s head and shoulders above Mahrez and the lad is coming off the back of an ACL injury.
