He was poorly placed to see the actual incident as it occurred.

It's a difficult one bringing in VAR for tackles so I don't think anything can be done during the game but retrospectively as was the case with Thatcher a stiffer penalty can be applied and should be to circumvent the stupid yellow card rule.

This won't stop Sane making a recovery of epic proportions though.

We can cry all we like but bad tackles have been and always will be part of the game.

The Thatcher incident was gbh. This is nothing like it

Absolutely. This "ref saw it and took action (i.e. yellow card) and therefore nothing can be done, is quite the most ridiculous rule.

The FA needs to seriously ask itself, what sort of football do we want to encourage in this country? Fast, skillful players with quick passing, great movement and moments of brilliance? Or a bunch of cloggers hoofing the ball forward and flattening anyone who has a modicum of talent? If the latter, carry on.

I loved the 70s

He was kneed in the back of his thigh, that's what made him do the splits
We can't include that, as I remember it the contact just made him lose balance, barely a foul and just terribly unlucky, if anything I blame their club for not watering/thawing the pitch enough as the frozen hard pitch was the reason for him doing the splits.

It's not comparable to Sané's and it would only damage our case to lump things in that don't hold as much weight(they will focus on that to dismiss the rest), choose our battles wisely as they say.

Just an observation, i saw the knock on Jesus as an indicator of the physicality and closeness the whole league decided to incorporate from that game onwards, the only way to beat us Murphy said, aided and abetted by that thick twat Collymore and those snidely managers Pulis,Warnock, Pardew etc

I agree with Metalartin.

The nudges on Jesus was nothing more than close quarter hustling that you get all over the pitch. Sometimes it's a foul, sometimes not.
The damage came from the way he slipped rather than the contact itself.

There is an agenda out there to kick us,no other team comes anywhere near us on our day,its the best football ive seen in over 40 years, yet so many challenges are being descibed as clumsy ,mis timed, accidental,
I call bullshit where there is intent,or dangerous play, players are getting yellows, you get the same punishment for a shirt pull.
Kanes tackle on sterling, deli alli,on de bruyne, joe bennett twice last week, all with intent to endanger an opponent, all yellow cards,
What a joke,Mason is inept and so to is bobby madelly, yet they get games week in week out, they are shit referees.

Said it further back in the thread,City as a club should take a lead and take joe bennett to court for damages, and seek compensation for Sane's wages while hes unavailable to play, players will soon change there minds, when challenging to hurt delibrately an opponent, wankers.

Delle Alli kicked sanchez delibrately at wembley yhe other night and grinned, got a yellow, what a Joke...

There is no agenda.

WBA just got frustrated at the death as the game went away from them and they tired after chasing the ball around for 90 mins.

Regarding Delle Alli, I didn't see the game. I was watching City. I saw the highlights on MOTD as what I saw was a typical Alli tackle. I also saw Valencia clean Alli out in the penalty area with what was a scissors challenge. Guardiola if he's smart should keep quiet about this, but the media are out for quotes now. If you make an issue of it, which is what happened after Cardiff, refs are even tougher because they want to be seen as tough. hence Bobby madley turned down what I think was a nailed on pen for a foul on Silva in the opening minutes of City v WBA.

Surprised the club hasn't at least said something in the media. I know Pep won't but if we lose another player to a blind hit on a counter, that may change.
