With all this bollocks about Les needing time to put a side together. Its all bollocks because once that French twat Platini announced his intentions with transfer caps relating to revenue we all knew that it was a race against the clock.

Platini was trying to put his proposals (or something simlar) through within 3 years so we needed to be up with the big boys sooner rather than later.

If we miss out this season then the job will get much harder as Platini will be pushing for some change (whether or not he gets what he wants is another story).

Yes it seems pretty clear from the statement that thats what happened in the summer, the club had to retarget so as to beat this issue.
