well I'm hoping that by the time we all get back from Barca it's done with. One way or the other

yeah, it'd be great if while Hughes and the lads are in Spain Cook and Marwood get this sorted and we can get Lescott in time for the Wolves game. Sure he'd be well up for making his City debut against his old club. Incidently, was it Lescott that got sent off at Maine Road for a foul on Ali B when we played Wolves the season we went up, under Keegan?
yes your right mate he got sent off just before half time

Nice one, thought that was Lescott! Good game that!

Re: Kompany VS Lescott.

But if Kompany is preferred as the CB instead of buying Lescott, then we need a new DM. This was what I meant. We need two players for each position unless we want to see TBH and Dunne playing frequently in the upcoming season. With a new DM, like tall, strong and versatile Westermann from Schalke for example, we would have Westermann (tall) and De Jong (short) for DM, and Kompany, Dunne (two tall ones) and Ned and Toure (two short ones) for CB. What do you think?

The reason why Lescott is a key signing for Hughes is not just because he is an England class CB but also cover and competition for Bridge.

When we play away at Stamford Bridge, Old Trafford, Anfield or The Emirates I can see Hughes opting to go with a back four of Zab, Toure, Kompany & Lescott (if we sign him) and playing Bridge as a wide left Midfielder.

The writing is on the wall for Robinho! I know some of you think he's God's gift but just hear me out. Robinho's skill is undoubtedly world-class, but 70% of the time it feels like we're playing with 10 men and this is why we were exposed so often away from home last year and we suffered even more when both he and Elano both played.

Against Blackburn, we looked an infinitely stronger unit when Robi was subbed. I think the only reason he has played as much as he has is because MH would have been commiting professional suicide if he'd dared drop him last season, but if we keep progressing at a good rate this season and keep winning and Robi still doesn't contribute as all Premiership footballers are expected to, trust me he'll be dropped! Not completely all at once, but little by little.

For me Robi's occasional flashes of brilliance are far outweighed by his lack of presence over a full 90 minutes. Like I said IF we do get Lescott it definitely wont be the end of Kompany, far from it, I feel it may just be the beginning of the end for Robinho unless he steps up to the pace and power of the Premiership.
