if we have bid £19m for Lescott and it's turned down do you think we should pay more? i,ve heard they want £30m, personally i don't sit easy with giving pots of money to clubs we're in direct competition.

Back on topic...

The recent Moyes statement about not selling doesn't fill me with optimism.

I really wish City would stomp in now with an 'offer they cannot refuse' and wrap this up.

REALLLLLY hope this signing comes off as I would consider it a completely balanced squad.

How can it be disloyal to boo an ex player? Isn't that an oxymoron.

We are expected to be loyal to a disloyal other.

Interesting concept.

but he is not being disloyal is he? People move jobs and he is allegedly being offered the chance to triple his salary, FFS get over yourself, this is economics not disloyalty, how can you blame him? In your heart of hearts what would you do? He isn't even a scouser he is a brummie isn't he? Why boo him? I am sure it would upset him as I am sure that IF he leaves everton it will be with sadness and I am sure some personal reluctance, so why ruin those good feelings he has of your club? A fecking nonsense if you ask me, but you didnt so who gives a toss anyway

I think you are completely missing the point.

I would move if given the same opportunity in the same circumstances.
I would be disloyal to Everton and chase the money at City
I would expect to be bood for my disloyal actions to a club which gave me my first real opportunity.

What a boring sport football would be if everybody clapped everybody else?

'Well done ref, unlucky with that offside call'
'Great celebration Robbie, we love it when you snort the touchline'

Thank you and good night.

Great work. You win!

Lol, yeh it was either that or talk to Miss Not my fault! As I'm sure you have guessed City always wins ;-)
Yehhh I won

Couldn't agree more that the story is bullshit.

It was intended to add to, and be, a talking point on a busy thread.

so why come on here and be so sensitive? I am sure if I posted on an efc forum they would love me!!!

I am not being sensitive. Calling me a scouse twat is uncalled for. I like being called scouse. I am scouse and I am very proud to be scouse.
I am not a twat though and you had no reason to take that approach.

Would they love you on an EFC forum? Probably not. I would expect you to be more brash and obnoxious on there though than I have been on here.

No sonny I think you are missing the point but I am not going to repeat it as it is irrelevant to the thread and frankly this is a Manchester City forum, so as far as I am concerned you are very welcome here as you are quite polite and it is a free world but I aint interested in discussing everton issues

Everton reject £19m Manchester City bid for Lescott

Manchester City had no sooner completed the signing of Kolo Touré from Arsenal last night than a fresh £19 million bid for Joleon Lescott, the Everton defender, was submitted.

Touré became City's fifth significant signing of the summer, with the £14 million deal taking the club's spending spree over the past eight weeks to almost £100 million.

The Ivory Coast defender, 28, has signed a four-year contract that will more than double his wages to £90,000 a week, although City may have their work cut out trying to lure their sixth and final target, with Everton immediately rejecting the improved offer for Lescott out of hand.

David Moyes, the Everton manager, believes that Lescott is worth about £30 million - similar to what Manchester United paid Leeds United for Rio Ferdinand in 2002 - and will not consider selling the England defender unless City get close to that valuation, although the situation may come to a head if the player decides to submit a transfer request
Lescott is thought to be reluctant to do that, not least because of how it would be perceived by Everton's supporters, but the defender is known to want to talk to City.http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/ ... 732456.ece

I think £25m will be the highest City will go.

I think you will find I typed tw*t, you have interpreted it one way, but I was thinking more of a twit, but you might be right after all. Why are so many evertom fans obsessed with MANCHESTER CITY?

Yeah, cos' football fans always wish ex first team players well when they leave for a rival.

12k for a premier league game? I seriously doubt it. We average 35000 every week.

I didn't say last season; and I was 1k out, it was 1993, you managed 13,667 in the premier league at home to southampton 4 dec 1993, fickle feckers as I said. Can remember in moyes's 1 bad year, your lot were forever ringing into century radio saying he had stayed too long and should be sacked, short memories some of you scousers seem to have, and if you boo lescott you just prove how fickle you are once again

Short memory you have as well you smarmy prat .

After relegation to the Second Division in 1963, the future looked bleak with a record low home attendance of 8,015 against Swindon Town in January 1965.

I wonder which team that could be . City perhaps ?

Just thought I'd drop in to put another big mouth straight . :o)
