Id actually decided that you were probably EFCTaxi anyway lol. My info on Lescotts decision genuinely is from another everton first teamer though, I know that isnt the same as a signature on a contract but having the lad on board wanting the deal does make it that bit harder for Moyes to refuse the deal (no one wants to keep a player who doesnt want to be there) on the plus side for you Id say that either Moyes should be able to push the price up or as we seem to have fallbacks for a lot of our targets moyes could maybe drag it out long enough for us to switch targets and pull out. In that scenario though you may still end up keeping an unhappy player ?
Like I say, time will tell

I think the general consensus at Everton forums is split down the middle .

We obviously don't want to see our defence disappear , but we are fully aware of the potential of both replacement , and of having money to spend .

Lescott is a good player , but most of us feel that he is the weaker half of a fabulous pairing with Jagielka , possibly only because we rate Jags so highly .

Our manager was a defender , so he will have a good idea on what he needs from the market in which to replace should Lescott be allowed to leave .
Our other concern is that we have the African nations taking place , and a very difficult February once again , meaning that we will lose Yobo , and also our main strikers in Yakubu and Anichebe ( somewhat ) , though luckily , Pienaar will not have to leave due to S Africas failure to qualify , but M'bia would should we buy him .

This means if Lescott leaves , we have to consider much more than simply replacing him , which will be Moyes' biggest bone of contention and possibly Lescotts .

We still need to address our right back situaion one way or another too .

Jo on loan , or part of a deal may help the striker issue once more , but is it enough to sway the deal ?
Richards would be a better solution at this time , and obviously both on loan isn't yet out of the question .

So basically , Everton fans aren't as gutted as City fans would believe other than it gives us more to think about at the back . We will happily take the money and use it wisely should that be possible , but if he stays , and leaves in January , it would be better short term for our plans .

Re: lescott

not heard fuck all about lescott since last week and that roumer i heard was that we was going to put a 10 million bid in for him

Re: lescott

i just heard lescott told everton he would stay if they paid him £70,000 per week. they refused so he is on his way to city.

Re: lescott

I'm on record as saying as an Everton fan I'd quite happily take £18m and Jo on loan for Joleon , however I've been told about an hour ago that Moyes has cut his holiday short , was at Finch Farm today with all his backroom staff and has told them under no circumstances is Joleon leaving . Sorry boys but this is fact . I couldn't be bothered if you believe this or not ... Time will tell
