Ok i'll go in to why in my opinion there's a lot of bad feeling towards City. I'm only writing this so you can maybe get an idea of the impression maybe other clubs have of you... especially Everton fans. I'm not saying these are my views and I know you'll all jump on me for writing this, but oh well here it goes:

There's a certain way to act when you have a lot of money all of a sudden. Some people win the lottery and buy lots of flash cars, houses and the like. Some people pay off their mortgage and give a bit to family but essentially stay the same.

To the outside world you've become flash gits. Buying Robinho, trying to buy Kaka for £100m, offering him ludicrous wages etc. Money is no object, we will buy who ever we want. If they dont want to come, we'll just buy their soul instead etc etc.

Nobody likes a flash git. Especially if they used to be a similar type of person to you, and now you see them cruising around in a Aston Martin D7 Volante, Rolex sparkling in the sun, porn star sat next to them in the car. That person doesn't even bother to say hello anymore because their "better" then you. Yeah its probably jealousy, but you can't help thinking "what a prick!"

Everton are a humble club, we accept our position in terms of money and not being an elite force these days, but if we did suddenly become rich we'd spend a lot less, build more gradually, and be a lot more subtle about it. Your business plan is the polar opposite to what ours would be in the same situation. Our manager would never buy someone for £100m even if he had it. He'd build a good young team without the need for superstars, or certainly not a team of them. I think thats what irks a lot of our supporters. Maybe we thought your team had the same values as ours, and then all of a sudden your driving past in a amazingly expensive supercar flicking the V's to everyone you used to know.

Like I say i'll get shot down for writing this, i'll definatly get shot down for using such an appaulingly bad annalogy.

Also the thoughts above aren't necessarily my own opinion, more what I feel the outside world thinks to some degree.

Your right tho a lot of it probably does stem from jealousy.

Don't think you should get shot down TA and if you do ignore them. Just keyboard warriors.

Agree with much of what you have to say and can easily understand where you are coming from.

If i had to disagree it would be that your philosophy would be to build slowly etc. Maybe under current ownership/manager yes but this is impossible to state how it would go with new owners.

Would they want to allow you the time to build, would they want bold statements made, crucially would they want Moyes (and am not for one minute advocating getting rid).

All these factors could change.

Thanks Gerry. You make a good point about how building slowly would go down with new owners. maybe because we're in the top 5 already our building could just be a couple of excellent players a year and we'd be pushing for the top 4, whereas City maybe don't have that luxury as they started from a lower position.

Its interesting you mention Moyes as its definately one of our fears if we did get taken over. Moyes is everything to us at the moment, and we believe with money he'd be the best person to take us to the next level. I'd hate for us to get taken over, lose moyes and then finish lower as a result.

It's alright toffee lad, you have flat out rejected any chance of a takeover today, on with your correct policies. I'm sure you prefer it that way.

I know people find it hard to believe but I really think Moyes wouldn't spend the cash like City have if he had it.

Moyes has built slowly at Everton, created a great atmosphere in the camp, brought through young players and improved them no end. Its not in Moyes make up to buy a player like robinho.

Moyes would identify the best players in the world under the age of say 23 and buy them, mould them in to his vision and build a team like that.

New owners might not like this and want those big name signings, therefore sack moyes and bring in someone more high profile.

I disagree I dont know what Moyes would do, or at least have a good idea. I've watched the man closely ever since he took over, I understand his values and his aims. Whether those would sit well with a trillionaire owner i can't say tho.

It doesn't suprise me as our board dont want to sell regardless of what they say.

In an ideal world we'd be taken over by someone who could give us £30m a year transfer budget and build a new stadium.

In the real world were left with an anual budget of about £5m and (possibly) a shite new stadium on a retail park. I think i'd rather the ideal world tbh :(

To be fair, he spent 15m on Fellaini last season. I can't imagine he wouldn't spend the money big if he had it. Hughes was a bargain merchant at Blackburn as well, remember.

so in other words we shoudnt spend the money.....just like everton wouldnt if they were in our position!! and you as a fan would be happy with your club being the richest in the world but not buying any quality players because that would be "flash".
ABSOLUTE BOLLOCKS,

YOUR MISSING THE POINT (thought i'd write in capitals seeing as you did). We'd buy young talented players (Moutinho would be a good example). Players that are massively talented, young and hungry for success. We would spend money obviously, i didnt say we wouldn't, but there's a different path you can take other then identifying the 11 best players in the world and trying to buy them all.

What a load of absolute fucking horse shit!! In case you haven't noticed, half our team consists of young home grown talented players & more have been playing whilst we were in South Africa & we've been bringing them through for fucking years. I seem to remember a team of mostly home grown MCFC players going to Goodison & getting dicked by a side containing Gary Fucking Lineker but oh no, you wouldn't buy players like that now if you had a trillion quid to spend because you're fucking humble!!???? BULLSHIT!!

Take your hypocritical crap & stick it up your jealous fucking arse. We don't need any fucking lectures from you lot & we don't fucking care if you like us, you didn't like us then when we were skint, as you charged at us with Stanley knives injuring kids etc as we came out of the ground so why should it be different now we've got money?

Young player, bags of potential and a player he can mould in his own vision. Sounds like a Moyes buy to me!

Also we only paid £3m for him, the rest is in installments and add on's... its the Everton way don't ya know.

You seem to be massively blinkered. Moyes has built the team that way because he has had to, not by choice and he has done a fucking good job in doing so.

If Everton had money do you really think Moyes would be taking Jo on loan?

Oh well only one person jumped down my throat so I guess thats good. I guess by the fact you call me "jealous" you haven't bothered to read the rest of my posts where I stated I hope City break the top 4's monopoly etc... god i'm such a jealous bastard aren't I?

What did someone say earlier... "keyboard warrior"? Ever thought of changing your user name?
