Lescott [Merged]

I agree with that. Moyes is a great manager but he needs to learn to keep things in the family. Lescott might well deserve what Moyes is doing, but Moyes should not have made the public announcement on his attitude after the Arsenal match, nor should he have implicated other Everton player in his rant.

Oh, and to the person that said I'm jealous of the wealth, then I'm not. I was actually for Lescott going at the right price all along. So I would suppose that makes me pro-City's wealth, seeing as we can benefit from it
When City sold SWP to Chelsea I was gutted, because it was obvious the money would not be spent on new players. In hindsight Pearce did a good job keeping City up. Very different circumstances for EFC. They can strengthen the team, and for the next 12 months there will be endless rumours of who Everton are going to buy. Transfer window makes it difficult

Sorry if I'm mistaken but other than city confirming questions from the press about bids for JL all other comments have come form Everton haven't they?. I mean if any one is out of order surely it's from their end. To publicly ridicule and ostracise an individual for alleged behaviour surely could technically be a breach of the employment laws. If one feels that they can no longer work in an environment due to others behaviour towards them then they could leave that place of work contract or not citing constructive dismissal. surely it is EFC and their management who are in the wrong, after all THEY have been the catalyst for all this press talk and making issues of the potential transfer or non transfer. I believe whatever DM's feelings on the situation it is HIM that has blown the whole issue out of proportion and not City for putting in a bid. I feel sorry for JL and how his club and their management have treated him THEY have made his situation what it is NOT City and although JL has put in a request I believe his position at that club has been compromised by the management and not the individual.

The latest tirade of abuse in which it seems all of you have contributed is because a dodgy sunday paper says we will report you.But if and im only saying "if" we can prove you made an illegal appraoch to the player do you think City are above the premiership rules? What do you think should happen?

I have to admit i was suprised Moyes resisted so much..he isnt stupid and knows how this works. I think he knows something and decided not to let you get away with it...just my opinion as opposed to fact.

Moyes knows absolutely nothing, he is bitter as Lescott is his best defender that is it. If he tries to pursue this he will look even more stupid, the truth of the matter is this deal was probably done a while ago but Everton wanted to get some cover in before they let him go, they also wanted to make it look as if they tried their best to keep him to appease the fans.

I suggest Everton just get the deal done and move on or their season will suffer as a result and £20m + is a joke he is worth about £12-15m so they should be happy, they can go and raid the championship and league 1 now for some more unpolished gems.

how do you know moyes knows nothing? i dont!

I'm very sorry to turn this abuse thread back on topic, but last night a guy at a bar told my mate that he saw Joleon Lescott in a resturaunt. It could be bollocks, but I'm not making it up.

Well, I don't think I am, I was very very very drunk.

Im saying what if? i dont have aqny proof? you made the statement that you made your approach inline with the Leaguse rules...who do you know?
I once had a drunken conversation with Gordon Taylor (PFA) at a wedding ( i was drunk he wasnt lol) when Nick Barmby had asked to leave for Liverpool and he said all teams tap up players but to different extents, i just wonder if you tried to steamroller us as opposed to a subtler approach who knows ??? No one on here does but yet we are the scum of the earth. I have heard that Lescott was sent home because it came to light he has had the details of his salary at city for a while, but thats only hearsay

Define tapping up.

Fair enough but no one answered the question though

It would be outrageous if we were done for tapping up in this transfer after the Berbatov fiasco last year. Ffs Fergie picked him up at the airport before they had permission to talk to him. Are we in the same ball park here? No is the obvious answer.

If we had a computer type programme that you could enter the requirements of a player we needed we would have entered this

*Premiership proven

*Left sided/footed

*International(preferably English)

*Imposing in the air

*Chips in with goals

*25-28 yr old

*dosen't score own goals

*doesn't give away free kicks around the box time and time again by clattering into players from behind

*does communicate and organize

*doesn't get sent off at critical moments

*can pass the ball out of defence

The only name that would have come out of this programme is Joleon Lescott so In my mind the price is irrelevant and no I'm not being arrogant or flippant its just a fact that because of our wealthy owners we can do business in this way.

We are fortunate and I for one am very grateful for the FACT that we can target and acquire players of this quality.
