Hi,

I have been looking through this post and for the life of me, i cant see where all the hostilaty between City and Everton comes from. Is this just a City thing ie Manchester and Liverpool or is the a genuine dislike for Everton?

Now i am a Blue (Everton) and i have always thought of City as a similar club to Everton. Fans local to the club, i the shadow (cringe when i say this) to our rivals / *****. And up untill now not a penny to our name.

As soon as i heard the news of this Arab tycoon i was made up (scouse for happy) and i thought finally an ok side getting a good turn of luck. Some of the posts on this thread seem to now have an aura of arrogance in the money the club has now.

I do hope City progress but i hope not as much as Everton of course.

Any light on any of my questions will be much appreciated.

Well you know money brings out the worst in some people, since we got taken over there's no doubt that a breed of arrogance has developed within some of our fans, it was always going to happen. I can't really comment the hostility, some people are jealous of our money, you've seen all the bad press we've had since the transfer window opened, i guess we're kind of developing the old siege mentality.

my sister in law is an Everton fan (she comes from Manchester not Liverpool by the way) and 99% of the time we combine to giver her husband (a rag fan) abuse over his team. I don't dislike Everton, there has been many links between them and us (Hinchcliffe,Joe Royle,Peter Reid,Adrian Heath to name but a few) why the sudden animosity between a few fans, there are far worse teams to dislike than Everton.

Just backing up what Tranmere has posted. Don't get were this hostility comes from either, have same feelings about City and I would think that the more sensible City fan feels the same about us.

Excited about Jo if this comes off (as I know what Everton are like with transfers I'm still leaning on the side of caution!). Know more about him at CSKA than with you guys tbh. One thing for sure he will play regular first team football!

Don't know were the Lescott rumour has come from - he's going nowhere!
