Lescott

You're right he has been carrying Toure, who hasn't been himself recently. The thing I liked about Lescott last night was that he was always in the right position to cut out crosses and dangerous balls in. It's the kind of thing Dunne used to be so great at.

That said Drogba/Anelka is the hardest test in the league. Look forward to seeing how he copes.

I thought he had a belting game, but one concern for me - early on he dived into a challenge and won the ball, but was on his arse when the ball spilled out to an Arsenal player. It has happened before and we've conceeded, He needs to learn not to dive in on the edge of our area. Only a slight concern and not taking anything away from a brilliant performance last night.

I remember that when arsenal where attacking the north stand? Yeh, I thought he was unlucky and the arsenal play got abit lucky there

Lescott always has been a quality player. He had an unsettled summer and has taken his time to settle into a new set up. I thought he was great last night and has been moving in that direction since the poor Burnley performance 9actaully since he had a good game for England).

I lost count of the number of times the ball spilled out to an Arse player. Might explain why they ended up with so much of the possession.

I think Joleoninho has begun to chip away at the £24 Million millstone round his neck. Not much sign of it last night.

Has played well last 4 or 5 to be honest odd slip up but i think he is carrying toure a little myself!
agreed
toure does not look fit
kompany should be playing alongside lescott

Nedum should be. Kompany should be stepping in for barry. Barry was ok last night, but not as good as his early form. I'm not knocking him, i just think Kompany is more cover for him and de jong.

Harsh and not true I think DEB. Jolo was our best defender last night by a stretch.

Also that header from him was top draw, I bet some people say he didnt mean it. He was weight and placed top draw, just outside the penalty area so the keepr couldnt come for it
