Lescott

No need for central defenders, Kompany and Lescott are top class and should be kept in the team...Right back and left back is where we need to improve..leave lescott alone (:

^^^^This

Lescott is one of ur best defenders.

He also used to regularly score around 10 goals per season with Everton (as did Barry at Villa) - I look forward to him doing this for City.

Lescott & Kompany - rock solid and take no prisoners (with De Jong to bayonet the wounded!)

Does anybody know in which games Lescott and Kompany actually played together as a central defensive partnership and what the results were?

Kompany switched to CB at the Stoke Home Match on Boxing day, although he played a couple of games at the back earlier in the season.

They didn't play together until 9th Feb.

The games they played together (as Centre backs) were

9th Feb Bolton home won 2-0 (Lescott came on as 2nd half sub)
21st Feb Liverpool home drew 0-0
27th Feb Chelsea away won 4-2
14th March Sunderland away drew 1-1 (Lescott's last game of the season)

I'm a Lescott fan, think we could have gone through against United in the Carling Cup, and gained 4th if he had been fit, he only played 8 games in 2010.

He's our best defender IMO. He was superb before he got injured again last season.

He started to shine towards the end of the season. He would have helped against Spurs because he can actually win a header, unlike Toure.

Also, I think we'll see Kompany start to play centre-mid next season. I think he was just taking one for the team playing centre-half.

With all this talk of new defenders coming to the club (eg.Boateng, Luiz and Van der Wiel etc.) does the team think that Joleon Lescott will become nothing more than yet another squad player for rotational deployment in the various cup competitions rather than a regular player? Discuss...
on loan to everton

Brilliant!

should be in the first team he was crap when we first got him but his form started to come back and he looke quite good

He was looking very good before the injury but he was never crap. Not great I admit but certainly not crap.

His fitness is a worry though. Before he signed for Everton he missed an entire season for Wolves after surgery on BOTH knees.
He is a decent player though, yes a bit shaky at first but settled down and formed a decent partnership with Kompany. His versatility is an asset and means we won't be letting him go but I imagine in a few years as we progress he will be sidelined for more world class defenders.

Not in a month of sundays should we get rid of lescott.

Started to look the business at centre half, and mancini has mentioned that most of the players he wants, should beable to play a few positions, and as we know, Lescott can play left back as well.

I hope he stays fit and can partner kompany next year, as they looked great together when mancini first arrived.

Kolo for back up.

Agreed . So in that case RM would need to sort out who his captain would be.
