He was a fine guitarist and Mountain made some very good rock n roll. Some think of them as an American Cream.

Saw them play once, on the bill for Deep Purple MKII's comeback at Knebworth.

Sounded like some show that. Remember Radio 1 broadcasting the whole show (minus 1 band who wouldn’t give rights, Scorpions I think), from 10pm to 4am the following Friday night. Still got my tapes of the Purple set. Mamas Boys and Meat Loaf there too?
I believe it hammered down all day didn’t it?!!
Anyway, back to Leslie, it is a sad loss to read about, and he certainly could rock out with the best of them. RIP indeed.

Some great end of party nights listening to Mountain, Zep and Skynard while kicking out the dregs and losers. Fond times.

Nantucket Sleighride was an awesome song and I’m old enough to to remember Weekend World too.
