hands up , was anybody else actually worried about the match being abandoned? I WAS!!!! . 5-0 up at half time i said to myself, at last ,a relaxing 45 mins ahead......oh no! not when city are playing . the big guy upstairs decides to dump 50 gallons on turf moor ( not a fucking drop round here in tameside ).

we were shitting it

we could all see the puddles of standing water

and when the game restarted everyone could see the ball holding up quite often

just relived that the ref didnt abandon it cos to be fair he probably could have!

We were at the front near the corner flag watching the puddles turning into a lake and we were convinced it was going to be abandoned! Huge sighs of relief when it got to 70 mins.

In a way, we were lucky we had Alan Wiley today.

Imagine some publicity whore like Jeff Winter or Graham Poll. They'd love to have it abd, so they could put it in their next book.

I was very worried! Typical City, even when we're 6 0 up we still can't relax!

It was terrifying. It had City written all over it.

Agree.

However we're made of stronger stuff now.

Are people still peddling the "City fragile way from home" line about us?

Didnt go to the game. but i was that nervous i had to turn the radio off with 20mins left and us being 5-0 up.!!! are we ever going to have it "easy" as city fans ????????????????????????

Have to admit didn't watch second half more intent on waiting for clock to hit 75 mins, I also think our players under instructions not to tackle second half and in some ways relieved when burnley hit a goal I know it sounds daft but it would have been so typical. Agree with everyone else you think being 5 - 0 you could relax not a fucking chance with our team.

Well, something had to happen. Otherwise, we could have just sat back and enjoyed a stress-free second half. And that is not allowed.

Yeah was paranoid...especially when the ball started to hold up...

If I remember correctly it happened in the FA Cup against Leicester in the late 80's / early 90's

It happened against Ipswich in 93. Only the second City game I ever went to, remember the City fans being really really pissed off because we were 2-0 up. Imagine what it would have been like today!

I loved the first half..... I HATED the second half!!

Any other day City would have scored 8 or 9 - I truly believe this

Second half, I was watching the clock (on ESPN) more than I was watching the match....... just wishing 70 minutes would pass by!!

My only comfort was imagining that twitchy cnut redknapp watching the same match we did and hating every single second!!
