Let the Beast Loose

He's a beast when he can be arsed running otherwise he's more of a jack Russell.

That is a bit harsh on Jack Russell's, they are good hard working dogs.
Yaya is more like a drugged up sloth in some games.

very funny.

yaya plays every game for mcfc when fit. every game. in the middle of our season he flew to africa for a fiercely contested tournament in the baking heat. due to his quality his team reached the finals..can you imagine how much energy he used up by the time he flew back to england .. and straight into the team at southampton..and then barely out of the team for the remainder of the season, battling it out in central midfield in what is generally regarded as the toughest, most demanding league in the world.

a fully fit and fresh yaya at southampton( instead of the understandbly dead on his feet version) and an appearence at everton may, just may have have improved our title chances this season..what is clear is that our team is a lot poorer without him.

yaya didn,t get a single rest this season. never moaned and said he was tired. a real professional, one of the top players in the world.

Instead of calling him lazy, and referring to him as a beast, like he was some wild andy morrison type animal, i,d suggest it is more accurate for city fans to fully appreciate what we have within our ranks, and show the guy some respect.

this goes for all our players, look at aguero and his debut goal. a stunner from 25 yards out, never done it since. silva tippy tappying instead of shooting, he's a bloody good player so should be scoring more.
i didn't want mancini gone but if they are all upset with him lets cash in on that and show what we are made of.
fingers crossed.

You know how the german stadium announcers are class for the atmosphere?

Everytime a holding midfielder gets put on to push Yaya up, our announcer should bellow out:

RELEASE THE BEST

Is Sean Bean looking for some new work?

I think his best all round games for us have been when he's started in the deeper position.

When he starts in the more advanced role he rarely does much in the first half, his attacking threat is generally in the second half. Most of his goals are in the 2nd half, irrespective of whether he starts forward or deep.

His passing game is much better than he's given credit for. When he does start deep he's always been given license to push forward when the game demands it.

There maybe a case for changing his role if we move away from the 2 holding midfielders set up. If we don't then he should be one of the 2. Otherwise we end up too defensive. We end up with Yaya playing at the expense of Tevez or Nasri and two ultra defensive midfielders such as Garcia & Barry. That's not an attacking option.

well said Dennis; the tendency to slag people off on here is beyond belief; would love to see some of these slaggers run several miles in an hour and a half, and then do a surging run, with the strength to hold off several challenges, and then sprint back to their own half, fucking jokers

If we are indeed set to move to 4-3-3. I'd like to see Yaya as part of a midfield 3 with Barry and Milner/Rodwell. Barry will sit and do the sweeping up job he does so well whilst Milner/Rodwell have the energy/legs to get up and down all day. This leaves Yaya free to dictate the game and make his surging runs forward and gives him slightly less responsibility to get back and protect the defence.

We don't train 5 days a week for years, have the best trainers and dietitians, or get paid millions a year to put full effort in for 90 minutes.
He is a professional athlete, is he not?
We "slackers" are allowed to "slag" him off if it looks like he is choosing which games to give a fuck about.

Silva / yaya / nasri or isco / Aguero / new CF (hopefully Cavani)

one of them has to go for Yaya to be at his best. Always have this nagging feeling that Yaya isn't terribly suited to how we play now. Sometimes quality shows through but he does tread water more and more. If Thiago came in he'd replace him.
