Lionel Messi, Barcelona's talismanic winger, has admitted that he would like to play in the Premier League at some point in his career. The 21-year-old Argentinean international had previously said he would stay at Barcelona for the rest of playing days, but told Uefa's website that "the football in England is great, just as it is in Spain," giving faint hope to certain moneybags Mancunians that a sufficiently obscene wheelbarrow full of euros could prise the player away from the Camp Nou...

We can all but hope :)
 
I'd prefer to see him stay at Barca for the rest of his career than get his legs broken by Stoke.

So true. This documentary shows how difficult it was for him to continue playing football and how indebted he is to Barca (who took a chance on a 13 year old from Rosario). He will NEVER leave on his own accord:

how have we all gone mad so quick he would never join us in a million yrs we are city (yes a team i love ) but he plays for barcelona champions ov europe the world and spain i just think some fans are forgetting that sorry but true stop being deluded and lets get 4th spot something that is really in our reach instead of fantasy football if you want messi buy football manager 10 then you can have him but even then you will have to cheat sorry for soundin so negative and before you go on and attack me yes i go home and away not just chat poo on here cheers just thought would add to all this

At some point in the line we might be prem champions and he might want a fresh challenge and to test himself in the prem. Never know

thats alot of MIGHTS stick to lottery we got more chance and soory to say this but i got private message from some so here my reply just cause you might have 20 000 000 post dont mean you know more about CITY or football it just means you not got life kids or family values or even a job
 
If we finish 4th and get Jose then i do think that maybe if we offer i mean stupid money like £250 million pounds it might get Barca thinking as they have debts like every other club.
And every player does have a price what's his buyout price in his contacts as everyone in spain has one.
If the owner wants him then he will have to pay that and then offer massive wages like 500 k a week
But then we will get slagged of for using the wealth that we have.

in 2009 messi's wages has been about 700 k per week
