....their players, and if they are, they are going to screw us for as much as they can becuase they know we are in a very vunrable position. If we were in the top six we could tell them to stuff it and walk away because of our league position and performances. Unfortunately every club we are trying to buy players from knows we are in a mess on and off the pitch and will hold out until we give them their asking price.

It's like you driving your clapped out car to buy another one and it breaks down outside the other guy's house. You offer him less than he wants for his car, but he knows your car is fucked and he tells you it's the full asking price or you can forget it. You have no choice. Just like City!

Yep, Chelsea have had to pay over the odds for years, it's something we're just going to have to get used to.

We are going to have to get used to this. To think Blackburn only payed 2.5mill for Cruz and they now want at least over 12 mill is a joke. Do you blame them though? I agree if you was in the top 4 and made a bid and they refused you would just walk away and the club would probably eventually come running back to you asking for the price you bid

it might help if.. RSC actually wanted to come to us.. of which im not sure he does...

He could have come in the summer but openly said he wasnt interested...

If RSC did what both Defoe and Downing have done then maybe we would have a better chance of signing him for less money....

but the poor guy might not get his loyalty bonus......from rovers if he does that...

Seeing as we are apparently extremely rich I don't see too much of a problem paying a bit over the going rate. However, if we start handing clubs big wads of cash they are going to go out and improve their own teams.

One thing that would happen is that if we paid £15 million for Santa Cruz the marked could be stimulated and future transfers could be easier. I think we're going to have to take the plunge and give a club what they demand and hope that starts a chain reaction of buying and selling by other teams.

This transfer window will be like a game of bluff.

Believe it or not a lot of clubs do need our money and if city are patient these clubs will be back on the phone to us come the end of jan.
i`ve waited 30 years and i can wait another 30 days without panicking

It works both ways though, other clubs know that the market will only be stimulated by any interest from City and although they may wish to screw us on price we can keep them waiting to increase the pressure. The last few days of the window could be interesting. Would rather be in our position than anyone elses.

RSC has made it clear he wants to come to City

If he hands in a transfer request it may help. Why don't we offer TBH, Vassell, Evans - sort of players horse faced Sam likes!!!

Also, I'd rather not have Scott Parker if he's going to be on £100,000 a week. It's mental. To be honest, he's not much better than what we got.

If we paid average players like that £100K a week, what will good players want? We will become a joke.

I'd rather have Joey f**king Barton back than PArker.

I think we should sit tight as long as possible. Other clubs need our money. If we buy RSC then Fat Sam will have £10M to buy Bolton rejects, then Gary Megson will have about £6M to buy West Brom rejects and West Brom will spend about £4M on some Championship rejects.
