Unbelievable how many people jump on the bandwagon with this hughes out campaign after a defeat, lets be honest lads after the last game last season if someone had told us we would have been in european contention with couple of games to go and have robbie on the team we would of snapped there hands off, we are now established as a top half team, Hughes has had one season in charge, in that he had only one day in the summer transfer window to spend some cash then the january window which is difficult anyway.

I personally think we have made good progress with a lot to still do but the signs are positive!
Good run in europe, good home form and a bunch of good signings, the areas to work on obviously our away form has been poor, better runs in both cup competitions, there is a fair amount of deadwood at the club should see fair bit of movement in the summer both in and out the door !

Lets get behind Hughes, the players and look forward to what should be a good season and then we can judge Hughes fairly after he has had a full transfer window to make the signings he believes we need.

Where is the progress with a best finish of 9th and a 50 points haul in comparison of 55 and 8th last term. Less we not forget the whole new team signed and £100m+ spent. I think the word you are looking for is BACKWARDS pal

This is unbelieveable....

1. We are not an established top half of the league side, we finished 9th last year and will finish either 10th or 11th this - hardly an esblished top half of the league side.
2. Us qualifying for Europe had nothing to do with Hughes, had he been here we (almost certainly) wouldn't have qualifies.
3. We giot to the QF's by playing absolutely crap teams with the exception of Schalke (who are good) and Hamburg (who are good and KO'd us)
4. Robinho was abolutely nothing to do with Hughes.
5. If progress since last season means finishing lower on less points then you're correct
6. Good signings... four, Given, DeJong, Kompany, Zabaletta - not particularly brilliand taking into account the amount of movey he had at his disopsal.
7. Crap signings... Two Tal BenHaim, Bridge.

Sorry your comments fall over at nearly every point,

HUGHES OUT!

OK, and if someone had said we will finish the season just above Stoke Cith would you have snatched their other hand off?

And if someone had said that we would spend over £100m in the season, I dare say I would have been fantasising about finishing higher than 9th.!!!

100 MILLION IS NOT A LOT OF MONEY TODAY IN FOOTBALL, AGAIN I ASK THE QUESTION WHAT WOULD OF BEEN THE EXPECTED POSITION TO FINISH THIS SEASON BASED ON THE 100 MILLION SPENT ? WHAT WOULD OF BEEN ACCEPTABLE ?

They did and I was - Only last August, thats why I am so gutted and blame the management team.

The question is how many of these four so called great signings would make any of the top 4 sides? So how great are they or is that mearly in comparison to the meadocracy that we currenlty have in the squad

heres a reality check 200m in 2 years and won fuck all dont look like winnig anything qualified for europ through the back door we were the 8th best team in the league now it looks like we could drop to 10 best

what does anyone expect hughes to do? Had money to sign Kaka he wouldnt come ? The only players he appears to sign are players that arent good enough for the top four, what should he do ? who should he of signed ? what would of been a classed a good season? what finish?
