Letting Aymeric Laporte go.

Thise saying we never replaced him, once Ake was here and city he wiped the floor with him on passing skill, football intelegence, heading and technical skill,
What the fuck.

Laporte in his pomp and probably still now, is comfortably in the top percentage of passing and football intelligence city have had in the last decade. Ake is absolutely nowhere near

Was the correct decision, people.are moaning about Dias drop in form, Laporte was even worse, in or off form.

If he hadn't replalced mangala he would not be rememebered so fondly, was full of bad passing and lapses in concentration.

Thise saying we never replaced him, once Ake was here and city he wiped the floor with him on passing skill, football intelegence, heading and technical skill, Laporte was fortunate Ake was injury prone of he would hardly have plalyed from 2020 onwards
His Lyon and Spurs CL disaster show's clouds my judgement of him a bit but he won us a covidy trophy at Wembley v Harry Kane Fc and playing through the pain barrier in the final few weeks to help secure us the league when all our other defenders with lower pain thresholds were out injured should never be forgotten

Before his knee injury, Laporte was widely regarded as the second best CB in the PL (behind Van Dijk). He was instrumental in 18/19 and played some role in 17/18: our best league seasons ever.

He was great in 2018/19, certainly our best centre back back by a mile.

In 2017/18 he joined after the halfway mark and only played a handful of games, and was introduced as a left back to get game time initially. "The same role" is nonsense.

I wrote "played some role", not "the same role".
