Level 3 catering

There’s quite afew on site, especially around city square area - not sure what he’s on about.
Yes, "independent" not price fixed by the club, they have been there about 10 years.

I’ve often wondered why there’s fuck all outside the grounds of the stadium to eat? You go to other grounds all over the country and they have independent food vans, dotted up the streets on the way to stadiums.

Just like with pubs around the Etihad, there are none of these food vans.
What happened to the food van on the corner of Briscoe Lane - Riverpark Road. ?

It’s been thus since Adam was a lad: The queues are too long and the service is too slow. Solve that conundrum and you’ll be a millionaire
It is easy to solve, extra staff, but the club wont consider it sensible financially to employ extra for a 15 minute spike in business. A situation replicated up and down the country at matches.

One of the issues which is difficult to resolve is the infrastructure the concourse on L3 is small and the bar areas don’t have enough space, can’t just shipped in hundreds of items without having the correct hardware, fridges ovens, to handle them I think the club caterers do quite well considering. The jobs are not great it’s only 20+ occasions and can be any day of the week, at varying times so difficult to train and retain staff
Predicting demand is difficult obviously don’t want to have food left over afterwards, maybe they based it on previous 12:30 ko and it was different yesterday?

I have seen the catering/bar staff stealing in recent weeks …I bought 2 pints in the summerbee bar a couple of weeks ago and the bloke put my money straight in his pocket! My wife went to the bar at half time yesterday and the bloke in front of her paid in cash and the woman put the money straight in her bag !

SS3 I now do not use the catering pre match due to staff being hopeless.
Was in SS2 on Wednesday got a pre match pint no problem at all.
Tried SS3 again in the hope of improvement.
Gave up after 10 mins.

They might not have been expecting people to want to eat at half time :)

Has anyone had that chicken and chips on the photo in the OP?
Sounds nice but would probably be crap.

I had this yesterday, didn't want any breakfast when I got up,so thought I'd have some dinner,so went in ground a bit early to try it.

Wasn't bad in all honesty, only 3 pieces of chicken, but chips were ok and the cheese and BBQ sauce worked well,£7.25 is steep, but it was ok

Tbf, what else are they supposed to do,the catering bars are card payment only and probably have no facilities to deal with cash?

as I have never been on level 3 so is it all connected and you can walk right round?

I only ask because if not which level 3 stand is this thread on about

I was told once that the liscence laws on where you can set up limits this with 3 colleges also in the area so only a few can operated, there is one pitch near city works but not on match days, one near ashburys station and another I forget where.all three have a burger/food van on them weekdays so the pitches are not available to other traders on match days unless these one ls open

Have the occasional pint pre-game if I'm in early and don't/can't be arsed with the Townley.

Last Saturday I tried to get a meat & spud pie about 14.00 only to be told they had none left so had to get a steak one which was more expensive. Pie was nice enough but chances are that's my one pie of the season at £5+ even with discount.

I was down below on Wednesday and lots more bars & staff available. Even ignoring the new bar area it was much more pleasant on the concourse.

CB3 & ES3 and no you can't walk round. SS3 is far superior but then it's newer I suppose. Other 3rd tier concourses are awful, god knows what they were thinking when designing the stadium.
