I think that Liverpool result gave us all a false dawn.

We have so much work to do, and so many players that need to bed in and get an idea of Pep ball.

Still think we're missing an experienced/old head in midfield, like Gunny Version 1. Especially with the long injuries of Rodders and kovacic.

So much to rant about, but going to keep it short and sweet....

- Team selection...It is very easy to have an abundance of riches on the bench to bring on when you played your shittest available team (whether it be through lack of fitness, lack of match sharpness, rotational obligations or just the weakest link)

- The High (No) Press - We were man marking Leverkusen whenever they were in possession with an extra man. We often had 6-7 players pressing. The fatal flaw was that nobody was actually pressing. Nobody at all! WTF was this? Everybody was positionally tracking and going into the areas they should have been going for the press but nobody was pressing. I don't think I have ever seen anything like it.

Some players also need to realise that they are the game changers and not to rely on others.

Savinho is dreadful. Needs to go in Jan.

The club is accepting mediocrity from the playing staff. Until that changes we will continue to struggle.

It’s accepted at the club that we have won the lot and this now is all part of the course.

Said the same in the match thread. Remember when pep dropped sterling for missing a sitter at burnley? Those were standards. That was even with sterling scoring double figures every seaosn.

Now savinho can fanny around losing the ball and whinging and gets to play 90 mins. Oh and 1 goal in 40 games.

That was a shambles and to those who are saying I'm too harsh on Savinho well please enlighten me why he deserves to be in the team.

Very disappointed with Marmoush, Air-Nouri, Lewis and Rjinders who were frankly terrible,

Bobb as well as Savinho was a waste of space & effort.

Bad tactically from Pep to start the game with a tactic of playing so slowly - It was kind of arrogant to think we could do that and win - Leverkusen defended well and looked fitter, more hungry and played with a sound plan - Our performance was one of the poorest in the CL I've ever seen from us. Tactically out thought - we have returned into a side that is so stuck in our drilled rondo possession game that the players are unable to play with their own personality - they are afraid of messing up and that is a bad way to try and play a game of football.

We need to play with freedom.

Overall it looks as if there is something not right in the camp because confidence cannot be this brittle, in 2 games all the mojo that we had because Erling was on fire has gone - it's that bad. We would not have won a game in any top league in any country playing that way. Where does the fault lie? I have no idea.. team selection was odd and like sticking two fingers up to the fans and the competition. After a great start to the CL campaign we could end up falling apart again and that is not an over reaction it is a fact.

That was disgustingly awful from Pep all the way down to our worst performer Savinho and it was a very low bar.

No normally that reactionary, but the first half was absolutely pathetic from players who are supposed to be fighting for their place in the team.

Improved a bit once the main guys came on, but honestly, except from Khusanov, Stones and Nico the entire team of the first half could leave tomorrow and not be missed.

100% on Pep tonight, who i think should make this his last season. Football is now pace, press and power with direct fast football. We are the complete opposite and get out muscled, out fought and out paced every game inc tonight.

Spent a fortune in the last 2 windows and every signing bar Donna has failed to perform well.

Its not as if we had any chance of going far in the CL anyhow as we are light years away from the better teams but shocked at his pathetic starting 11 tonight and now had us more likely to be in the play off places aftet a defeat in Madrid.

The fact we still employ that joker of a set piece coach sums up the half arsed management of the club over the last 2 years
