Liam Delap - Ipswich player 2024-25

rather they went to somewhere like Blackburn who are proven with our youngsters.
Preston have a good track record with youngsters in general but I defo wasn't impressed with them a couple years back, playing Lucas Nmecha out wide as a midfielder and not even a winger when I saw them to be fair.

Blackburn would be alright but they love Bradley Dack being their midfield talisman, so Palmer could have problems getting in depending on the way they play or asserting his dominance in the team with the Dack aura.. whereas Preston would defo play both I reckon maybe Blackburn would too but I know their fans see Dack as the man or defo did.

Dack did his knee again, didn't he? Can't be trusted to stay fit and if he was, Blackburn are desperate for cash so would cash in on him. Besides Palmer is better than him. Would just prefer our lads go where we know they'd be used right, they're too valuable to have a bad loan.

Dunno mate tbh not know he's injury prone not really kept up to date with championship much last couple years... Just know an ex's bro thought he was the championship KDB and it seemed they all love him up there, know what ya saying though Nmecha's loan at Preston possibly cost us £5-10m, if they'd played him upfront we might've even doubled our money... No danger they won't play Delap up top PNE and I don't even think he could have a bad loan there or anywhere tbh... but Palmer defo needs a team that'll let him play the right way and whoever that is is fine with me that's if they're defo going out on loan.

Heard today that Preston are trying to get Delap and Cole Palmer on loan for next season. From a very reliable source who just said Preston are hoping to get it finalized this week. Not sure if it’s really the loan I’d hope for as Preston are a pretty poor side and now have a manager no one really knows anything about.
I thought City had already turned down loan offers for Palmer as they want him in and around the 1st team this season?

Preston are traditionally a pretty workmanlike and prosaic side, athletic and hard working but don’t play the most progressive football. That said if they are going to be playing week in, week out then they will learn a lot from playing against grown men in a highly competitive league with a 46 game season

If we sell Jesus and sign Kane. Could delap be a great second striker option? Learning from Kane and playing most of the cup games.

if Kane gets injured I’m sure we could just use a midfielder again upfront. Worked pretty well last season

I think the plan if Jesus were to go is Kane, Delap and Ferran as out & out 9s, and of course the multitude of options at F9; KDB, Foden, Sterling even Grealish if he arrives

Any truth to the stoke rumors? I said ages it would be a good club to blood him and got arrogantly shut down.

I mean rory is on their staff so...
