Liam Delap - Ipswich player 2024-25

Makes sense if you think they got Wilcox as part of a bigger plan to sign these 18-21 year old top academy prospects rather than assume they went after those players because they had Wilcox.
If he signs, I count 6 younger players that have been with us
Delap, Larios, Bazunu, Harwood Bellis, Charles and Edozie.
David Brooks was with them last season too but not sure if he was on loan and they did well financially out of Lavia.
Willy Caballero hardly qualifies as a youngster.

According to SSN (I know!) this morning, Vinnie was being linked with the Bayern Munich gig. Can't for the life of me see that happening. But playing devil's advocate here; if he was offered the Bayern job, would he turn it down?
No

lol

Seems a good sale to me, don't think he cuts the mustard at this level and he has just had a serious injury. I wish him all the best but I think we've done much better out of the deal than Ipswich!

Personally I think he has the potential to be a top PL striker and potential long term England no.9. Needs to stay fit and get regular playing time up front though, not on the wing like at Hull.

I think he might end up a bit like Sturridge - his best level is good enough to play at the top level, but injuries seem like they're going to follow him around, he's had 4 or 5 big ones in the last 5 years or so.

Hoping its age and general growing pains. I remember Gerrard being so injury prone as a kid too. Haaland another decent example, though not to the same extent.

Yeah if he can put all of these behind him, he's got everything really. Size, speed, technique. I absolutely love how early he takes his shots when he's confident, totally catches keepers by surprise.

i thought he played good today..if we ever spend money on a Haaland back-up we should consider him
I thought he tried hard and showed good technique and strength to hold the ball up, especially since his teammates were often significantly deeper and unable to support. Should enjoy a good career, but whether Ipswich Town will create sufficient chances for him to be prolific is another matter.

We got good money for him and if he was up for it I would had him as our second striker this season! Maybe though he wanted to play
