Liam Gallagher

I love it. The fact John Squire has gone back into a studio is amazing by itself, he's too good to just let his guitar gather dust. Love the vocals, the fact Liam listed the colours of the rainbow means nothing, doesn't make it shite or any better.
These two together has took me right back to when the roses and the madchester movement came out, can't believe they've collaborated.

Great song to entice us in for hopefully a belter of an album.

Really wanted this to be good but it's dreadful. Liam listing the colours of the rainbow is up there with his cringiest lyrics ever, which really is saying something!

John Squire is the sole songwriter on this, so the lyrics are his fault. Then again, he wrote most of The Seahorses stuff and a lot of those lyrics were dreadful too.

Fair enough you can have fairy throwaway lyrics, but surely someome could've piped up about the bit singing colours of the rainbow and said "shall we change that? it's really shite".

My man.

What do you mean by a slot? You a musician?
In my house yes (but let's not de-rail the overall pipedream). :-)

I meant more spinning discs and expanding the listeners repertoire to everything that I believe to be better than Simply Red (which is obviously a hugely expansive list)...........

Haha.
50 odd years later, make a generic version of "Rain" change a few bits of melody, (but leave in McCartney's Bass line more or less as is) tempo and overall "feel".... copy Lennon's vocal timbre. Even have a weather slant on it.

Good money if you can get away with it. Clever guy that Liam.

You could say something similar about pretty much every track on the planet mate.

Everything sounds like something else.

Oh I don't know, Rain was pretty original when it came out. Sounded like nothing before it.

As I said Liam is a clever guy getting well paid for that. Comes over as thick but that's just another part of his cleverness. :)

There’s a lot of shite talked on here but this thread is an absolute liberty.

It’s fucking brilliant.
Is there any thread I can dip into without feeling depressed. Admittedly the track is not a banger but it's still a decent listen.. Liams vocals ok and Squires usual impressive guitar work . 5/10 a mark taken off for the lyrics . It does remind me of the come back Roses song All for One.

Kula Shaker has a decent new track out today

Definitely clever if he can make it sound like Rain but not for me I hear “Hey Now” sounds like Oasis
