I had 2 holiday jobs in kendals in the 70s and remember the tunnel. The other side is I think waterstones now. In those days it had the Radio and TV department, where I worked.

Most people went from 8 bit to 16 bit computers who I knew.
Speccy, Amstrad, Comodore 8 bit 48/64k then late 80s Com Amiga and Atari ST 16 bit 512k.

We had them once or twice. Used to come into the street and you could get your knives sharpened.
