First off I saw this




So dig some digging and this appears to be the big news:

I'm struggling to imagine how anything can possibly live there. But I guess they've found life in pretty extreme places on Earth,
 
This is literally mind-blowingly huge if true. Weirdly though, guarantee most will just shrug it off and ignore it. Baffles me.
Well I think it would put Venus in the same category as Mars, right? In that we basically know that there's life because we can see biological gases, but we haven't actually encountered any.

Not sure we’ve seen that with Mars?
With Mars I thought it was more the evidence that water had been present in significant quantities in the past and where there's water there is usually microbial life at least.

Looking forward to the announcement, hopefully not a damp squib as some of these pre-hyped things have been in the past.

Yeah there’s nothing current on Mars in terms of life or evidence of life having ever existed. The Venus thing is different as it would suggest life is there now.
