Everyone now accepts that being gay isn't a choice and there's nothing you can do about it, so you'd have to at least hope that being a paedo isn't a choice either, but obviously what you do with those impulses very much is. I don't know enough about it, but is there any options for someone who is attracted to kids other than suppressing it and hoping for the best? I can see that some alternative option is needed, but I really don't think this is it.

But at some point someone is going to have to come up with some solution to them, as it seems very optimistic to just expect them not to act on their urges through fear of prison sentences and the obvious "kill them all" solution isn't exactly practical. Ideally you'd want some system in place for people who are attracted to kids to be able to admit it and get some kind of help, rather than only finding out about them when they do something awful. All that being said, I can't see how creepy kid sex dolls is the solution.
60 years ago homosexuals were perceived the same way as a paedophile today. A paedophile has sexual urges to a child below the age of 16 years old, some may argue a child of 15 could consent to sexual activities doesn't make any difference if it's consensual or not, it's still wrong.
