After the buzz of finally beating Spuds at home, woke up to two messages. One from my cousin to say my Uncle has had a fall and is at death's door and my auntie has been diagnosed with dementia. Second one to say my wife's grandma is in hospital after suffering a heart attack. Just feel so down as my uncle and auntie are one of the last connections to my dad who died 20 years ago. My dad is the reason I'm a blue.

:-(

I lost my mum to cancer when she was just 60
I'm 61 next week, am relatively healthy and for the last year have really reflected on what my mum missed out on
So sorry for your loss :(

My condolences go out to you and your family.

Cancer is an absolute bastard.

Sorry to hear that, it can be rough and sometimes these things come along like busses. This time last year I was preparing to attend the third of four funerals in under four months. I'm only in my 40s and one was for a family member younger than me. That one was hard.

Then two months later my dad was rushed to hospital, and we then also got the diagnosis that the mother in law was confirmed as suffering from dementia whilst also fighting the return to two types of cancer. Trying to get someone to have a routine, or even remember, to take tablets and attend appointments, is hard with that evil condition.

This year we've only had one auntie in hospital for a suspected stroke, but my message is to keep thinking positively and, even for just one second a day, let one good thought in.

It won't always feel so terrible, and you shouldn't let it stop you having fun or smiling. Life gets this way sometimes, so vent away if you need, nobody has to go it alone, even if it's on a football forum jammed full of puns and innuendo.

I’m of an age now where friends are up in heaven. I could have joined them in late 2022.

It’s devastating but puts all your trivial gripes in to perspective.

Thinking of you all.
Most of my oldest and dearest friends (A smallish group) have passed on. I miss them.
