Am I the only one who's experiencing extremely slow downloads and search results?

It keeps informing me that I need to update it, but I have Limewire PRO at the mo, allbeit not actually paid for! Should I download the newer version and wait for a new torrent to come out with the the PRO on or am I gonna be waiting a while?

Cheers.

forget limewire, download utorrent for free and then this will handle all your downloads from any bitorrent site.

If your behind a router, you have to open port 6346 for TCP and UDP access on it for full connection.

I have no idea if you are, but post the router and i maybe can help

Utorrent alongside Peer Guardiean, Limewire is a hive of a whole host o nasties.

I basically have no need for torrent , but on the rare occasion i do i use :

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.bittorrent.com/?client=bittorrent6110" target="_blank" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.bittorrent.com/?client=bittorrent6110</a>

However, if you download frequently, i would STRONGLY recommend decent antivrus (norton)

This software does require to open ports on firewalls though.

Norton is the biggest pile of shit ever made imo.

Disagree totally, its the leading Antivrius software out there, you either dont want to stump up the cash, but Endpoint is nothing short of breathtaking in security point of view. Yes you can get free software (AVG) but it really isnt the same.

Norton's the leading antivirus for those who want to cripple their systems.

I was actually given norton of someone i know as they had a spare license left after they installed it on there pc. I wont touch it though as its just bloatware, it always has been and always will be. Actually if anything overtime norton gets worse and worse (first time i used norton was in 1998).

BTW this is what i've got on my computer for security :-

Router with Hardware firewall,
Avira Antivir personal, best free AV you can get imho,
Comodo firewall pro, best firewall i've found in the last 14 years (its like a software based router),
Spybot search & destroy, immunize & teatime feature are excellent,
Ad-ware,

The added advantage of all of the above is if one program gets a virus (I've not had one in years though) the rest will still run. Unlike if you get a virus inside Norton your all in one package you would lose all protection. Oww and you've got the added bonus of using far less system resources ;-P.

I didn't find Norton to be much use either , to be honest ....... probably gave me more problems than it actually solved.

I use AVG , Spybot and Superantispyware on my computer now (although not at the same time) ........ and i don't appear to have any problems with them.

As for LImewire i dare say you can pick up the odd 'nastie' from it ......... although a few months back a leading computer mag said that they'd deliberately tried out several file sharing programs ....... and Limewire was the ONLY ONE that HADN'T downloaded any nasties!

So it's hard to know what to believe!

I suppose its all down to taste and preference. Each to there own i guess :)
