To balance things out, I agree with most of his political comment.
I think that he has been the best presenter of recent times. MOTD has become rather irrelevant now though, as we get 24 hour coverage of the game elsewhere.

I know what you mean although I’m not sure I’d use the word irrelevant. MOTD is still essential viewing for a huge number of people who don’t have the subscription sports channels and don’t / won’t stream games illegally.

Despite enjoying Lineker’s affable personality and presenting skills though I find it to be almost unwatchable these days. Ten minutes of highlights of a match are usually followed by at least the same amount of time engaged in a dull as ditchwater, overlong discussion of it which often includes lengthy and patronising tactical “analysis” which is usually blindingly obvious to anyone who watches football. I imagine that most people just TiVo it and fast forward thru all the chatter.

That's very true but it also might really be a white male. Depends how much weight is given to experience of the men's game (as far as I know MOTD is a program about the men's game`, why not have a version of MOTD for the women's game?)
