Of all the things to happen in this saga, I think "Messi doesn't perform well" is probably near the bottom of the probability list.

Its that extra bit rather than going through the motions which is the question mark (although its still very impressive numbers at a club he really cares about)

If City wish to sign Messi, can it be done without Barcelona's approval? I think it's best to go through Barca and offer a nominal fee (<< £100m).
I disagree.

Why should we pay them,if he is a free agent ?

We have the best Sports lawyers in the game.

We proved that at CAS.

If the Shoe was on the other Foot. They would not pay us a Penny.

If this happens we can start to groom the media and change the narrative. The click bait hoars will be desperate for the inside story and we can choose who to favour and who to fck over. Play nicely boys and girls or we take our world wide scoop on Messi having his toe nails clipped to another outlet... Oh and Dan Roan and Simon Stone you can make the coffee if your lucky!!

Nah. They’ll be spouting how Ronaldo is & always has been the best player of all time. Messi will slip down the GOAT list pretty quickly:)

Surely we would have to wait for a CAS decision? Both sides think they are right over the contract clause issue. So to get him on a free would be a long wait would it not? And time is of the essence considering his age! We can’t sign him on a free if there’s a contractual dispute, surely? And if we could, what happens if Barca then win at CAS? How much are we liable for?
