Remember this guy, wasn't there talk of giving him a 10 year contract at one point.

Messi will leave if the conditions are right, it isn't set in stone that he will stay.
He may seek to cash in on his talent during the peak years, Barcelona may also see an opportunity to sell before his talent wanes and his value depreciates. I don't even think they need him, If they sold him, who would they buy? Another FW, to rotate with Pedro, Neymar and Sanchez. A midfielder to replace Xaxi maybe? Gundogan? Ander Herrera? And some defenders, David Luiz, and maybe another CB and even another fullback.

The only obstacle is matching the price which I imagine would be at £100-200 million, Barca would accept, Messi's terms would be convincing enough if money was a draw factor, the only issue is whether ADUG would put that sort of money on the table.

I think he's being 100% honest in his quote, he will finish his career at Barca. That doesn't exclude a 3-5 year detour to another club now does it?

Also, remember the fuss when Yaya mentioned finishing his career at Barca shortly after signing for us? And has he now not changed his tune and said he wants to finish it here?

Words in the wind.

The difference being that Yaya doesn't have the same track record of keeping to his word...Moreover, he was clearly angling for a bumper deal, which he got...Leo has been at one club

The quotes from Yaya I'm referring too were made within a couple of months of him signing I believe, he'd just got his deal.

No one believed he was staying indefinitely, few Brasilians last that long at the club, even one as legendary as Ronnie...Plus, his brother was constantly trying to get a bumper deal every summer...It was never sustainable longterm...Plus, Ronnie didn't come up through the cantera...One club, this makes a difference

Barm or Muffin?

I guess it would have to be brown sauce. As to barm or muffin, either would be stupendous
It will be done on the pitch, at the first home game he plays for us and he will bring your shit barm (with brown sauce) to you on a silver platter! Along with the cock of the guy who promised to eat that if he signed. So at least you'll have some company.

You don't fancy offering us a counter-bet for what you will do whe...oh sorry, if...Messi actually does never leave Barca then, PB? ;)

I think it actually alludes to the club's history of occasionally selling off it's best player (Maradona, Cruyff, Laudrup, Ronaldo, Figo etc.)...But there's no doubt there exists a rift between the Laporta & Rosell boards - of course, he's been with the club during the Gaspart fiasco too...At a club like Barcelona, the board can often be as daft as that of the capital club

Rosell has been planning Messi's sale for nearly 12 months now.

There's a reason why Barcelona were prepared to put together the kind of financial package they did for Neymar.

I can understand if you've been a supporter of the club you're whole life you would hate to see Messi leave. However the way it will be spun when Messi leaves is that it was for the good of the club. That his leaving facilitated either a new stadium or a serious revamp of the Camp Nou.

I said, among Barcelona fans, that Rosell's arrival would gradually see the erosion of everything Laporta & Pep put together...It started with Pep and while I never quite believed it possible to push Messi out, Neymar's pursuit gave me pause...Rosell is a Nike whore and the club as well as Neymar are clearly Nike which leaves adidas and Leo a bit marginalized...Rosell also called, prematurely, for Ronaldinho's sale when he was still in his prime at the club so wouldn't surprise me to see him push an icon out, nevermind the greatest of all time

The rift with Faus, a VP of Rosell's, may only be a speed bump but it's the first time the club has knocked heads with Messi and the first time Leo publicly singled out a board member...Right now, the advantage remains with Messi, IMO, because boards come & go and Rosell already is taking heat for a number of decisions that have tarnished the image of the club

Could Messi be sold?...Absolutely, but Rosell played his hand and everyone called his bluff from fans to the player himself...Advantage player since it is a members club and the majority support Leo

He did say very flattering things about the club early after his signing with City but he also did again before his renewal giving the impression that he might leave...Leo has never suggested he'd leave Barcelona to play at another club in Europe

Use common sense mates!

Whatever he, or anyone else, says, let's get one thing straight. - He will play for Manchester City in the near future.

Not only because it's the greatest club in the world.

Also because our owner and exec's has been working on it for a long time already. Pep will be our next manager, in the summer of 2015. Pellegrini is here to do what it takes to prepare the sqaud and club for Pep's arrival.

Our owner always gets what he wants, and of course he wants Messi. Problem was, he could get him right away and was forced to take a few necessary steps first.

He got Ferran and Txiki, they've got Pep waiting for his turn. Pep and Messi reunites at City, win everything for a few year then both of them moves to NYC to finish their careers and live a veery good life. Money will stream in for years and years due to them two.

Messi to City is just one piece of the grand puzzle.

Elementary, right? :)
