Emphasis on the quoted part, which insinuates it’s quoted word for word - END OF SEASON, doesn’t look like a date to me?

The contract is highly unlikely to have a specific date - when the contract was drafted - they wouldn’t know the intended end date of the 2019/20 season - so they would almost certainly refer to a term like ‘the end of the competitive season‘.
