Have to admit. I know if we get him it is going to cost us, but I’ll still be disappointed with having to give Barca anything.

I genuinely feel empathy for their fans and did love that Barcelona team back when we were still crap, but what that club have become, needs taking down a peg or two.

There’s a price beyond which City will not pay I’m sure and they are excellent business men. But I have recently let my heart rule my head in this.
My head is now telling me €100 plus Jesus is far too much let alone throwing Garcia in.
I don’t believe this is true or would be entertained.

Cheesman is just taking a punt imo, like I believe he did with the CAS verdict. The people handling this for City will be our very top boys, waaay above the pay grade of any contacts he might still have at the club.
He is already covering his backside with his follow up about ‘negotiations ongoing’ which is almost certainly bullshit. I sincerely doubt any meaningful talks have even started yet.

If this is true then I feel we are making a big mistake, would rather wait another 12 months and let his contract expire naturally. That said I think it's now or never, if we were to bail on Messi after all this we would never get another chance.
