For me it's a categorical no. The only sense in it is commercial.

What about empty pockets?
Yes, that's a great negotiating maneuver from Manuel there. Really pushing Silva's price up to the big Spanish pair.grunge said:If the quote I read from Pellers yesterday is real ( "David Silva doesn't have the reputation he deserves as he has not played for clubs like Real/Barca" ) I get a feeling that Merlin will be part of any deal for Messi.
SPIDERBOY said:2 different articles with the express regards messi...1 saying the rags are after him and the other saying we are in for him,one says his release clause is £195 million(rags article) and the other says it's £210 million(us)...how the fuck does the same paper get completely different fees?

Next financial year we should be showing a minimum net profit of £50m or thereabouts and at least that every year from now on. We can also add about £20m to that for allowable FFP expenses. So with the allowable FFP loss we've got around £75m to play with and that's before any revenue that Messi brings in. £150m transfer fee and £20m a year wages comes to an annual cost of £50m.uwe rosler 28 said:RandomJ said:Where the hell have they pulled that figure from? Its 150 million transfer fee and the rest is wages which wouldn't come in to ffp straight away id say we would havd to raise some where near 90 million to be able to stay within ffp rules! But this would quite easy the would renegotiate all there current sponsorship deals player sales new shirt sales for messi! Basically messi would cover his transfer fee and wages with the amount of exposure he would give city everybody would want a bit of city!
