Wtf is going on. Sky sports now saying he’s staying but messi is reluctant & believes he can leave. If he can leave he just leaves!

still not sure this is over. Barca can get 100 mil now or nothing next season. Everybody from players & fans know he wants out so not a great atmosphere.

I can still see him out as crazy for Barca to keep him & getting zero cash. They can save face now & put blame on messi

Amongst other things, City couldn’t possibly give reassurances about a court case which could cost either party circa £650mil!

I get the impression that neither City not the player are up for it, even though Barca haven't much of a leg to stand on. It would be too distracting for both parties. I'd call their bluff if it were down to me but it looks like there is no appetite for that.

Guys, where’s the logic here?

Only a few hours ago, Jorge Messi send out a statement after consulting with a legal team, that there is no 700m clause and that Messi is a free agent.

5-10 minutes later, La Liga says ”no it’s still valid”.

And all of a sudden, Messi announces he is staying? What do you think the clubs fans will think everytime they see him on the pitch; this man is staying here because he was forced to.

Messi and his team are saying La Liga are wrong. If Messi now stays, would pretty much accept that La Liga is correct.

No way in hell is Messi making a statement about staying. It makes no sense in the world.
