Right on cue! :)

Maybe at the moment his form is affected because the club president lied to him for a full year, then publicly betrayed him and stopped him from doing what he'd promised, Ronald.

I forget how outrageous it is what Bartomeu has done to Messi.

Man is mentally done with that team. He doesn't trust anyone there. That affects his performance. Not to mention koeman's system doesn't suit him at all. he gets less touches on the ball and becomes more isolated. These statements by the coach won't help at all not when the club forced him to stay

If my boss promised me something then fking shit on me.after my service to the firm,
Professional or not it would be very hard to be motivated.
As for PEP, he will no exactly what's going on with messi, seeing they've spoken and when available instead of going elsewhere PEP,
Would probably like to bring him here,
As messi said it's not about money, more a challenge..

Can only ever be a commercial signing now for me.

Sanchez had a bit of this wanted to move, performances tailed off and then struggled to lift them again due to his age.

The money it would cost I’d wonder if a deal could be done on Kane.

Spurs owe him to not price him out of a move for trophies, but with Levy and Mourinho I cannot see it.

He'd still be getting at least 1 mil a week over the next 5 years. He hasn't scored a goal in open play since Napoli. Not saying he's 'done' but he will inevitably start to decline. Haaland and a few more signings would set us up for 10 years.

Except that Haaland doesn't want to come to us (if you believe what you read) and would himself want huge wages and would cost us £100m+
Messi on a free (or virtually free) would raise the commercial revenue of the club - I would imagine we could easily raise £50m per year to cover his wages from existing and new sponsors... I am sure the commercial dept of the CFG would be very giddy at the prospect of Messi in a City shirt...

I get what you are saying about building for the future - but I would argue that having Messi in the squad will do more for us down the line in terms of revenue and the ability to spend plus the attraction of Messi to younger players?
