Marca is Madrid based whilst AS is Catalan I think, it's AS who is reporting that Soriano and Txiki are offering 165m

Either way this summer could get interesting...

Marca know there's very little chance of a new contract being signed this week. They're shit stirring to fuck if they've run that story. Then again, they're also the ones with pictures of Zubizureta and Luis Enrique meeting at lunchtime today. Talk about trying to unsettle your rivals!

Regarding Messi i've thought for nearly a year now that this will come down to just how brave he is. Ultimately he holds all the power in terms of deciding his future. If he is unsettled at Barca, and he would like to move to City, a deal will be done tout suite. But he will need to tell Barca he wants that move, because the board will be hung drawn and quartered if they seemingly sell Messi against his wishes.

The only thing I think might put a scupper on it is fan power..like the Kaka deal before it

we were the stalking horse milan used, they turned us down to show how committed the board was. they had someone there who also wanted him. its a bit like budget leaks when it does happen its not so much a shock
