Possibly, but I dare guess Barcelona would be quick to claim that first.

Messi doesn't really need to announce anything to anyone as such. A goodbye to the fans is on order, but not a must. If he has signed a pre-contract, the club can choose when and how to announce the formal contract.

Would be strange though.
