Not an original thought but City might use the possibility of Messi to keep the Kane transfer fee down.

He's worth hundreds of millions.

Legacy as possibly the greatest ever.

But he absolutely MUST earn absurd wages in order to continue with the "club of my heart" whilst it is at a serious low point.

Fuck that little gnome hypocrite. Play for one euro. Make yourself even more of a legend.

Rather than for at least the fourth time going with the whole fucking "flutter my little eyelashes at City" fucking bullshit.

Fucking sick of this!

If I was City right now id say Levy here is 115m take it or leave it you have 48 hours to accept or reject. Gets rejected ? Cool

Messi hey here is a £115m signing on bonus + £300k wages you in? You have 48 hours to accept or reject. Then keep upping the figure until 1 accepts lol.

Not sure about the "brain" part of your username.

I don't want Messi.

Yes, that's my opening gambit, and i don't much care who else gets him (even Utd).

He had the chance to come last year and turned us down. He again had the chance to sign for us this year (OK, there IS a maybe here), but chose yet again to stay in Barcelona.

And now that Barça either have realised they are in a lot worse shit than they thought, OR they're using him in a power struggle with La Liga.

Well f*ck him and the other 6 dwarves.

He isn't a number 9, he's 34 years old, we'd have to pay him at least 600k a week (which we could well afford considering that we'd be willing to spend the same transfer fee & wages outlay on Kane, but would - I think - upset team harmony), and he'd be here strictly against his will.

Go to Paris Lionel (I live in Paris), so that I can laugh my b*llocks off again when we know PSG out of THIS YEARS CL.

with this Laporta press conference, I've not heard anything on whether they can register Depay, Garcia, Sergio.........can anybody enlighten me

It will be Messi. Messi is a singularity, he isn't bound by the regular laws of policy like any one else. If somebody thinks that we're going to turn down Lionel Messi in order to sign Harry Kane, I just don't know what to tell you. We've been chasing Messi for ten years. We've put three deals together for him. And now he's on the market we're acting like a spurned lover rather than a professional football club? I absolutely don't buy it.
Exactly this. Abu Dhabi have craved this. First pep now Messi. Having them together again is stratospheric.

Why is thread still going?

He's signing for the rags and paying them to play.

According to my mate he loved watching Ole as a kid and even had his posters on the wall and always wanted to go to the swamp.
I heard the same.
