This is a 3 horse race.

PSG, City & Chelsea are the only clubs with the filthy moulah to afford him.

PSG have a weak league where he won't have to engage too much & Paris.
City have Guardiola and the most complete team out of the 3 (a chance to enjoy playing again, but the worst environment)
Chelsea are european champions and have London (both of which, weirdly, could count against them)
It is not a race. He is going to psg

In other news the loan of our second striker (Delap) has been delayed due to a ‘slight knock’.

Now if I was potentially looking at Messi and financially it meant Kane COULD be jeopardised (recognising the fact that the Messi deal might be totally different and financed differently by Messi clauses etc) - I would definitely go belt and braces and keep delap to hand if possibly needed.
I like your thinking. Im in

They can try all they want, but they can't afford him without breaking the FFP rules. You can't have Ramos, Donnarumma, Gini, Mbappe, Neymar, Di Maria and Verratti in your team and expect to also sign Messi. It's never going to happen. If they do sign Messi, they would have to sell Mbappe and a few other players to make it work. That would take too long for it to happen. Not to mention, no other team can afford Mbappe this summer.

I think City is the only place that can afford him.
Also, I think Mbappe’s contract expires next season, so Madrid are unlikely to be forking out upwards of £170m for him, even if they could.

Not at all. A bad injury is 6-8 weeks out, or anything longer than that of course. His ankles are fucked, he picks up one of these injuries every season. If it happens again, he won't come back.
He played 40 odd games for spurs last season and missed only 3 league games what makes you think his ankles are fucked?
