I've spent weeks mocking Villa fans for being in denial here, be a bit wrong for me to be a hypocrite now.

There's only one tenuous link to Messi from City atm. Every other has said it's not on. Until something genuinely concrete comes up I have no reason to think it's on.
Pep on the box @1.30 could be interesting

We are forgetting 1 thing here I know he's 1 of the best,, but no one knows for sure if he cuts it in the prem,, especially at the age he is now,, totally different ball game here than Spain
We surely all want to live in a world where we find out if he could cut it though right? The dream is Messi trotting out at Stoke in the carabao cup and tearing it up.

It looks to me like PSG are nailed on with everything coming out from Spain and France at the moment. It wouldn't necessarily links related to PSG either, it could be leaks via Messi's team. If there are leaks and there's nothing substantial about us, in fact to the contrary, then maybe that's come from the horse's mouth and not just potentially diversionary club briefings? Maybe Messi knows we're not in for him and that's why everyone else is briefing it?

Too much smoke for there not to be any fire here for me now.
Maybe we are lining up a 'reverse Alves'. Keep an eye out for Messi going on holiday.

He played 40 odd games for spurs last season and missed only 3 league games what makes you think his ankles are fucked?
He’s had 8 ankle injuries in his career, resulting in 201 days on the sidelines in the last 5 years from them… and he has had other injuries n’all.

He’s getting noticeably less mobile and athletic by the year (possibly because of the injuries, could be general deterioration in athleticism as he ages).

Missed 14 games because of an ankle injury in the 16/17 season, a further 19 games because of an ankle injury in 2018, then another 5 games last season. Add in the 14 games he missed during the 19/20 season because he ruptured his thigh muscle, watch literally any footage of him at the Euros, and you'll understand why I think he'll be finished as soon as he hits 30. The guy is on the edge of being completely burned out.
Missing 5 games isn't exactly fucked ankles though is it... 4 goals in 7 for a very cautious defensive England manager after a hard season with very little rest finishing highest goals and highest assists in the league yet you think he's going to be done in 2yrs...fair enough your entitled to your opinion.

I genuinely think nobody knows. A lot has changed in the last 24 hours.
only person who knows is Pep and a few others and he's not going to come out and say anything in a press interview about the charity sheild, all he could say if he was to mention it is say were not in for him,so whatever he does or says will have zero bearing on what the club does over the next 24 hours

Apart from all those goals and majestic performances against the Prems best, Including ourselves, you're correct..

Yet the fact is he only missed 3 league games last season.
