I was just getting used to the idea of kane over Haaland but kane over Messi ? Nah
Thankfully the club aren’t really arsed. People banging on like it’s a choice, if probably isn’t. We probably know he will stay there or go PSG, why make ourselves look like idiots again

Missed 14 games because of an ankle injury in the 16/17 season, a further 19 games because of an ankle injury in 2018, then another 5 games last season. Add in the 14 games he missed during the 19/20 season because he ruptured his thigh muscle, watch literally any footage of him at the Euros, and you'll understand why I think he'll be finished as soon as he hits 30. The guy is on the edge of being completely burned out.
Kane will have a chance to be rotated & rested at The Etihad thankfully. :-)

We all said there was no way we'd allow Aguero to leave without being sure of having a like for like (goal-wise) alternative ready to come in.

We knew of Messi's situation 12 months ago, but we also know Barca is where his heart is. We're doing the right thing. Stick to Plan A, & if that falters, or we complete Plan A, & still have change left over, make a move for Messi.

Messi is the icing on our cake, not our future. We'd be wise to remember that when it comes to player priorities.

I do feel sorry for Kane he’s done everything to push this move. But if we do sign him there will be a lot of blues probably going we could’ve got Messi instead. I would not like to see the city page when they announce him it’ll be a lot of comments about this should be Messi etc

For those saying it’ll be forgotten when he starts banging in goals for us it won’t if Messi wins the champions league for PSG.

You know how on the podcast the other day you said your opinion of Khaldoon and Txiki would plummet if we don't get Kane after making him the only target?

If we don't make an offer to the best player in the world, who would absolutely transform the club's standing worldwide, because Pep is too proud to stop being upset that Messi wouldn't sue his way out of Barcelona last year then my opinion of the lot of them would take a big hit.

And I'm one of the biggest happy clapper, trust the process, Pep fanboys on here.

I understand not getting in a bidding war.

I understand not pinning everything on him saying yes.

I do not understand not extending the offer we already had on the table as of January.
If we aren't in for Messi it won't be Pep pride. We heard the same stuff with Laporte too and look what happened.

I'd love us to go for Messi and honestly I really hope we try, but if we don't it won't be for petty reasoning.

City's been courting Messi for a good part of the decade. if they end up holding the bag when he finally shakes loose, that's going to be a pretty big goddamn oopsie. imagine the press spinning that into "City unable to pay Messi after breaking their piggy bank to get Jack M.F. Grealish". did someone say 'typical City'? :D

Because God loves a trier

I don't regret the Kaka, etoo, Ronaldinho pursuits. I don't care if we look like idiots (which I don't think we do)

Oh and my prediction is that Pep will give another "we can't afford to buy a striker" speech about Messi. Which was bloody cheeky saying only a few months before we spent £100m on Grealish
