He’s going to be some player this lad.
Should be on our radar.

Your post highlight one very important attribute of a player in a team sport that are not really mentioned much: the "teamwork". And I don't just mean "teamwork" in tactic, in passing, but also teamwork in the attitude, the mindset.Absolutely right. But not only that. He does the same to Ronaldo. Ronaldo is a superb athlete, and a fine footballer. But he is simply not in the same league as Messi.
One of the reasons why I'm unwilling to accept that Pelé is not the greatest of all time — although Messi is definitely in that conversation — is that the evaluation is distorted by the simple fact that, courtesy of blanket television on a global scale, we've seen one hell of a lot more of everyone since the 1990s than any player previous to that. But more importantly, Pelé has always said that his assists and more generally what he did for the team (whether Brazil or Santos), were at least as important as the goals he scored. That he treasured them as much. And it's true. All his teammates recognised it. It's the same with Leo.
Maradona was an astonishing player. But over a much shorter period.
Mbappé, Ronaldo, and anyone else currently playing the game are pygmies by comparison.
Cruyff, Pelé, Maradona, Messi. They are on the summit of Olympus. There is no-one else.
Pure. Fuckin. Heartbreak.

If he'd truly wanted to join us (doubtful, in my opinion), he'd have tried to force a move through. We were used as a bargaining chip to get more money out of Barca.
