I presume LFP's concern about revenues from 'certain countries' is an attempt to revive the old argument about distinctions between personal and state wealth in the UAE. City's revenue is above reproach and comes from many sources so that it is impossible to exclude any from FFP calculations. I think any attempt to find City in breech of FFP would provoke one almighty onslaught on FFP in the courts. If LFP are fearful of a City attempt to get Messi, this is most certainly not the way to foil it.

I honestly think Guardiola would rather Messi stayed at Barca the rest of his career instead of moving to us, he's said it enough in his interviews.
It's called "reverse psychology tapping up" by being a friend to a player he knows very well.

Paraphrasing..."I would love nothing more than to have Messi at Manchester City, but Messi is a Barca player and I think he should stay at Barca for the rest of his career." That screams "Come to City when you're done at Barca, because I love you!" to me!!

I could see him coming here for a year or two next season if the deal is right. Who is his football sponsor, though?

So the loan to Real Madrid from Abu Dhabi, plus their sponsors Emirates from Dubai, and not forgetting Qatar's sponsorship of Barcelona are all OK, but our sponsorship from Abu Dhabi based companies which satisfy IAS24 and the analogous bits of FFP are not?

Riiight!

Barcelona may be, but I dont think UEFA are bothered about us financially these days. Whereas I think they are still very suspicious of PSG.

PSG really haven't helped themselves by attacking Barcelona with everything they've got. Apparently they were bidding for players Barca were in for just to drive up the price.

This is seen as revenge for Barca removing Qatar Airways as a sponsor, a decision that their current board framed as a moral issue.

Not a chance we'd fail FFP now. Net spend not the biggest in the Premiership,5-6th biggest revenue in football, wages falling, in profit 2 years on the bounce and probably again this year. Not even superglue could make this stick.

In addition to PSG who UEFA are investigating, the LFP (Spanish* governing body) also made an FFP complaint about Man City. [Onda Cero]
The LFP asked UEFA to investigate revenues coming from 'certain countries'. UEFA only publicly investigating PSG as it stands. [Onda Cero]

The possible punishment if City or PSG were found guilty of FFP breaches could be expulsion from European competitions. [Onda Cero]

Trying to nobble us in case we go for messi
Still working on that dinner Kaz?
My offer open ended

bonkers to think that 8 or 9 years ago Barca had no idea who we were and now they're reporting us to UEFA and throwing their toys out the pram.

Real Madrid must be loving it all, Barca suits making themselves look a bit daft with the lashing out at us and any other bugger who are not "traditional" clubs. Go fuck yourselves Barca, you were much more likable with your previous stewardship. Real have fought back to the top and Barca seem to be descending into a bit of a mess.

How have they fucked it up, they took over the club in tip top condition with the whole world adoring Barca and the way they played. Someone or some people have seriously shit themselves as soon as Real and PSG (transfer wise) pushed a bit at Barca. Silly decisions have been made leading to big stars questioning the path (Messi not signing yet) or leaving.

That FCbarca guy seems a decent poster, i wonder what he makes of it all.
