I would love him to have his little speech then casually drop in at the end that he has signed for City on a free!

If he comes - great and we should go all out for him (but according to TH its actually Messi this time that is agitating the potential for a move and we are just waiting).

If he doesnt fair enough and we move on - we have plenty of transfer business left to do

Try and get your heads round that even now Messi is twice the player David Silva ever was. That’s not a dig at David it’s just Messi is that fucking good even when compared to great players like Silva!

Yup, Messi would immediately be the best player that's ever played for us and by such a considerable distance.

City undoubtedly are big players in world football, but unfortunately we are not seen as an "elite" team, so we somehow have to make that leap to become one in the world's eyes, that's what signing Messi would help to do . Mbappe and that class of player wouldn't even consider Manchester as a place that's unfashionable or not wanting to live, if they were going to what they consider an elite club. We all consider City as gods own club, we just have to ensure that the top talent in football realise that as well, and not just a team with money .

He doesn't play in positions against central defenders, never really did, probably these days more in a KDB position, in fact amongst his many biggest skills is the ability to appear uninterested and then appearing in dangerous spaces. The Messi of last season is still better than any other player available.

Walking or standing still is such an underated ability. When you compare his play to a kdb position, what about the defensive duties kdb carries out, nothing like messi.

How many games did you watch him play last season ?

How would you see appearing uninterested fitting into a system in the premier league.

Do you think being " uninterested" will have an effect on other players particularly forwards with defensive duties.

Do you think his age will effect his ability at any time in the near future, he is 33.can he extend his current levels at 34, 35.

I think he is the best footballer I have ever seen, and have watched him live in Spain on plenty of occasions, having spent plenty of time there in the past 20 years.
I just don't think a short if exciting cameo at the end of his career is necessarily great for the medium to long term future of the club.

Personally I reckon Messi would be an incredible signing. So what about his age? Many of the games I saw him in this season he was still very quick, pulled off some amazing assists and goals, out-jumped taller players on headers, still stringing play together brilliantly, probably better than anyone else.

His dejected body language in the Bayern humiliation was probably from a long term frustration with the way the team and club have been going this last couple of years. Maybe signing for City and working with Pep and a new squad could breathe a new lease of life into him - one of the greatest to ever play the game.
