I'm quite worried. The theatre of dreams is the natural home for Messi and everything is in place to bring the move about; he must relish the prospect of playing in front of that crowd, for that charismatic manager and in that team with so many exciting youngsters like Pogba, Fernandes and Lingard to do his running for him. And if there's one man who can who can make United's inexhaustible riches tell and get a deal over the line it's Ed. Pep and City must be very lacklustre in comparison and the rags only competition could be Liverpool with the magnetism of Jordan Henderson and the lure of Anfield.

Sarcasm, right?

If anyone actually thinks Messi would leave Barcelona, move to Manchester, and then not play for the club run by Pep Guardiola and the rest of the Barca exiles....I have several very promising invesment opportunities for you. Please get in touch ASAP.

He will go to the Rags and they will make the fee and wages back on him in shirt sales alone.

Thats how it works isn't it ?

Messi may have been the best footballer of his generation but he's not super-human. Central defenders might just be able to play on at that level. But Messi will not be Messi at 34. Maybe he'll go deeper like Pirlo but he wont be the devastating goalscorer he was and you see it in his stats. The trend is obvious.

Anfield will be licking their lips if he signs for City. This is the type of dumb deal a Man Utd would do. It's not for us, or at least I hope not.

He’s a better goalscorer than Aguero has been in his whole career even at 33. He’s also more creative than De Bruyne at the same time.
