Listen he’s truly a footballing legend, but why on gods green earth would we spend a small countries GDP on a fading star with absolutely no resale value and would not be able to cope with the pace and hurly burly of the premiership week in and week out and after watching his stroll around the pitch against the Germans blaming everyone else for the display I would be delighted if he went to PSG and destroy their dressing room

Haha stop crying 14 post since 2007

One of the greatest players of all time. Ok he's not as his peak bit he is simply still far better than nearly every player in the world. His record says it all and I can't believe people don't want to see one of very best players at City. Even now, other than Ronaldo, there's no obvious player whos as good as him in my opinion.

We need someone to crack the garbage bus parkers and if this fella can't dribble through a 10 man Aston Villa defence then no one can. Imagine trying to stop KdB AND Messi? Impossible. He scores goals and sets them up

I suspect if we land him then Pep signs for a few more years.

Is it
End of the day yes it would be great to have Lionel messi line up for city week in week out and the commercial side would be absolutely fantastic but We really don’t need him and he is not worth the money at this stage of his career. For one I think he commands a fee which could be £100 million for a 33 and then his wages which would be £500,000 a week and can you imagine the disharmony in the dressing room. We have seen the best of messi but he is not for us .

Curious, how do you think the presence of one of the greatest footballers of all time would disrupt the dressing room? I'd have thought he would have had an opposite affect.

Outed

If he’s serious about leaving, we can’t let anything get in the way of him coming here and not elsewhere. Money won’t be an issue, we can give him whatever he wants and I don’t think it will be a deciding factor for him either, sponsors will pay through the nose to cover his wages, merchandise will sky rocket he will pay for himself in that regard and there’s no danger of breaking wage structure for him, nobody else is going to be banging on. Txiki’s door asking for parity with Messi as the simple response will be go and bag 40 goals and 20 assists this season and we will talk.

he’ll likely want to go somewhere without drama, somewhere he can challenge for titles and somewhere he can play his game. We are the prime target to fill all his desires. He will know our Barca men and I assume have a good relationship with them, he knows Pep and knows the football he plays allows him to shine and we’re routinely favourites for everything. Get him signed!

Could we tempt Barca into taking Mahrez in return? Could be beneficial to everybody.
