Exactly this. Even the stories being pushed by the pro Barca/ Barto media since last week tell a whole lot by themselves.

If this is the best attempt at getting him to stay, it would be akin to walking up to Margot Robbie at a bar and shouting "oi slag, nosh me off for a Fosters."

And, from what I'm told, that's not the way things are done.
Your not wrong...... it’s Stella for that girl ;-)

All the flapping over how we will pay for him.... ? 1) Our Board are no bodies fools - they clearly have a plan and it has been in place for some time - its not just been drawn on the back of a fag packet. 2) Having been legged over by UEFA twice I think we just might have gone to the lengths of testing whether our plan to cover Messi's transfer and wages is FFP compliant - we will expect a shit storm and very close scrutiny. Tabas for one will go running to UEFA as will Barca to know where we got the money from and is it compliant etc... and that's before the Hateful 8,9, or is it 19? start kicking off like a load of jealous teenagers. City will have this in hand and we will be compliant - but that doesn't mean there won't be noise, it doesn't mean there wont be made up stories and allegations and calls for investigations and bans etc.... its just a pity that us blues cant stick together a bit more and enjoy this and be confident in those that steer the ship that we are honest, respect the law and comply with the rules...

I didn’t see everything that was posted about this last night but I was surprised to see @projectriver getting involved. Make no mistake, his legal insight into our appeal at CAS was an invaluable source of info for many City fans and gave us some reassurance that we would prevail, and a lot of it panned out the way he thought it would.

However, I would respectfully disagree with him that City signing Messi would automatically see us back up before the beak and that this time UEFA won’t “fuck up” the investigation. Firstly, signing Messi doesn’t somehow mean that we fail FFP. If the club feel we can do the deal and stay within the parameters of FFP and we indeed do so while doing everything above board then we won’t be getting punished for breaching FFP because there will be nothing to punish us for. Secondly, while it could be claimed that UEFA fucked up parts of the last investigation, the fact is that once it got to CAS it turned out that they had little of note on us and what they did have was easily debunked so the investigation should never have gotten as far as it did anyway.

As you say, there will be a lot of noise from certain quarters if this goes through but they will need a lot more than noise to bring us down because I doubt that UEFA would have the stomach to go through all this again unless we had actually indeed breached FFP this time

She's Australian, might work

If they can't really work out a solution he will obviously renew.

Anyone know the latest betting odds? I’m told the bookies are a decent gauge of activity..

I definitely see an argument. When you say weak leagues, what are you saying that on? Why were European leagues a higher standard?
I’m just basing it on the leagues that Pelé played in were mainly regional leagues, not even national Brazilian leagues.

You can argue Messi has played in a weak league, but La Liga has produced the most European finalists during Messi’s time, even if you discount Barcelona.

It’s either been the best, or second best league in the world during his time there.
